This month we spoke to Peta who works for Bzar, a sister company of Torque’s. Bzar provide fully managed marketplace services to their customers, allowing them quick and effective routes to market through eBay and Amazon.<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"Peta1000x650-copy\"\n\t

Peta started as a Customer Service Administrator at Torque and as her skills and knowledge of the inner workings of online marketplaces grew, progressed to a Marketplace Account Manager and moved to the newly branded Bzar. She is now responsible for managing seven customer accounts. Her day to day duties include market research, listing creation, customer consultation and ensuring excellent standards of practice within the customer service department.<\/p>\n\t

\n\t\tWhat’s your role and can you tell us a little about it?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

I’m the Marketplace Account Manager for Bzar, a sister company of Torque. I liaise with our customers and manage their accounts day to day ensuring they achieve their sales targets, managing their serviced stores, providing customer service feedback and so on.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tHow long have you worked for Bzar?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

I have worked for Bzar for just over 4 years now having joined as a Customer Service Administrator.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tCan you explain to people a little about what Bzar do?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Bzar provides fully managed marketplace services – we offer a direct route to market for companies looking to sell their products on eBay or Amazon. We do this in several ways depending on the customer, some may have their own managed marketplace store, others sell products via our own managed stores using a drop ship service. We also take care of everything else, from collating the data, listing the products, advising on pricing and promotional strategy, as well as customer service.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tWhat do you love most about your job?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Watching a business grow – from the first customer meeting to creating the listings, to the reward of seeing the first orders coming through.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tHow did you end up in your current role?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

I started out with Torque as a Customer Service Administrator taking on more responsibilities along the way. I was keen to take advantage of all of the opportunities available, allowing me to grow and develop my skills. I was then promoted to the role of Marketplace Account Manager.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tWhat invaluable thing have you learnt in your role? (Can be about yourself, or skills you’ve acquired etc.)\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

The most important thing I’ve learnt is how to conduct myself in customer meetings and gaining the confidence to be able to undertake these on my own.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tWhat’s the one piece of advice you could give someone who wanted to do your job?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Be willing to adapt constantly as the businesses’ needs are always changing therefore you have to be ready to change with them.<\/p>\n

It also helps to have a good sense of humour.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tCan you tell us the funniest or most interesting thing to happen to you at work?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Probably the time I had to pick up three former Dr Who actors and take them to an event. I had just got my Fiat 500 which only fits two small people in the back, not fully-grown former ‘Doctors’, luckily, they were able to turn it into the Tardis (!) and I managed to get them there on time.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tHow do you think Bzar go the extra mile for their customers?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

We work on a commission basis; our customer’s sales impact us directly as a business. This means we continuously and extensively research the market to ensure our prices stay competitive, we ensure we are promoting the products as best as possible and are constantly tweaking our listings to ensure they appear the most appealing.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tCan you tell us a fun fact about yourself?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

I’m the co-founder of Wigan Comic Con – the best event in Wigan!<\/p>\n

\n\t\tIf you could invite 3 people (alive or dead) to a dinner party you were hosting, who would they be, and why would you invite them?\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Anne Lister – A woman that always went for what she wanted in life whether it fit into the social norms or not.<\/p>\n

Emilia Clarke – Another strong, inspiring young woman, who despite major obstacles in life, managed to pull through and use her experiences to support others.<\/p>\n
